2013 Global Dance Festival – An Electronic Symphony of Epic Proportions

Electronic dance music fanatics flooded Red Rocks Ampitheatre last weekend for a ritualistic event – the 11th annual Global Dance Festival, produced by Triad Dragons and Global Dance. Nestled in the glorious Red Rocks of Colorado, the ampitheatre is often referred to as one of the most beautiful music venues in the world. During his set, Kill Paris even said, “this is my favorite place to play in the world!” Much of the Global Dance Festival experience is due to its location. As the sun sets behind Red Rocks, the light show reveals its true colors. Global Day 2

Adding an entirely new element to the experience, the light    show amplifies the music while mesmerizing the audience. The   rhythm is not just music for the ears, it’s a glowing speculation   that you can almost TASTE and most certainly an experience you   can feel. When the beat drops, you see a simultaneous “bump” of   tattooed and “candy” adorned arms in the air, a sight glorious                                                                                                                   enough to send chills up my spine.

Global Day 2-2

As I looked around, I was in awe of the vibrant and passionate culture of EDM. “We live for this music right here,” Ishe exclaimed during his set.

Global Day 2-3Beautiful go-go dancers added yet another marvelous visual element to the experience. Mimosa was my absolute favorite as his set resonated with me the most; the perfect finale to an epic event.

As an event that delights all the senses, Global Dance Festival is an unforgettable experience, a place and time where people can come together to celebrate a culture that represents much more than just music. Known as the biggest dance music event of the summer, Global is a 3 day festival with a serious lineup, including some of the biggest talents in the EDM scene, avant garde rising stars, and Colorado’s best locals in a multi-stage exhibit. It is indeed an electronic symphony of epic proportions.
